European Springs Support to Young Engineers

European Springs and Pressings have partnered with a local school – the Leigh Academy, who offer ‘T-Level’ qualifications in Engineering, and have recently hosted 2 students on a work placement as part of their qualification.

Daniel Platon and Nathan Sozia are both studying Toolmaking and have spent 4 weeks working in the Toolroom at European Springs, gaining hands-on experience and insight into precision engineering practices.

The Pressings Technical Manager, Liam Tilby, acted as their mentor and said: ‘It was great to see the students grabbing hold of the opportunity with both hands showing real drive in the tasks that they were given and a keen interest in the precision engineering techniques we have on display’.

At European Springs we believe it is important that we continue guiding and supporting the younger generation within the manufacturing sector.  We are proud to be working toward this goal through a joint placement scheme with Leigh Academy, giving their learners valuable exposure to real world engineering environments.

Liam states: ‘The enthusiasm and commitment of these students highlight the value of strong partnerships between education and industry, helping to develop the next generation of skilled engineers.’
