Why European Springs & Pressings

A unique, end-to-end process you won’t find elsewhere.

We help you define the problem, design the solution, and take it through production using industry-leading processes, materials, and technology. Whether you have a clear brief or only a challenge to solve, our experts will work with you to design your dream product.

Your Challenge

Many of our customers begin with nothing more than an idea – or even just a problem they can’t define yet. That’s where we come in.

Our engineers work closely with you to identify the real issue behind your challenge. We use our industry knowledge and design expertise to highlight options you may not have considered, giving you early insight and feedback before you invest.

We use a collaborative approach at European Springs, which means you stay involved throughout, shaping the direction while we handle the technicalities and design.

Our Process

We use a unique tried-and-tested process that encompasses various elements of design, refinement, and product creation, so that you always know the next step.

CAD Design

We begin every project by building a precise digital model of your product in CAD. This stage is where we translate your challenge or concept into a manufacturable design.

  • We start with your requirements, sketches, or even just a description of what you need the component to do.
  • Our engineers create detailed 3D models that incorporate your specifications, ensuring every part fits together and functions as intended.
  • Due to the digital nature, this part of the process allows for adjustment, refinement, and improvement before production begins, cutting down on project timeframes.
  • Once the design is validated, we prepare the files for integration with CNC machining and other automated production technologies.

Prototyping (including Laser Cutting)

Prototyping is where ideas become physical. We move from screen to workshop to create testable versions of your design.

  • We produce blanks using laser cutting, chemical etching, or simple blanking tools, depending on speed and cost requirements.
  • Components are formed with standard tooling to provide realistic samples without the need for major tooling investment.
  • Our engineers adjust and prepare prototypes for testing in real-world conditions.
  • For low volumes or parts still in development, laser cutting is often used to produce precise prototypes and short production runs.

This stage ensures your design can be tested, improved, and approved before making its way into full production.

Tool Making

Tool making consists of designing and manufacturing tools, dies, and moulds that shape, cut, or form materials in production. This part of the process underpins everything we create.

  • We design accurate and efficient press tools, dies, and fixtures specifically for your project.
  • We select high-grade metals and apply treatments such as hardening or plating to achieve maximum durability.
  • Using precision machinery, we manufacture tools to exact standards, ensuring they integrate effectively with our production lines.
  • Each tool is trialled, tested, and adjusted to deliver consistent, high-quality output.
  • We also build gauges and other tools so that quality can be monitored throughout the production process.

By creating tools in-house, we have control over quality, lead time, and long-term reliability.

Production & Assemblies

The final stage is full-scale production and, where needed, assembly into sub-systems or complete products.

  • Once tools and prototypes are approved, we transition into production on stamping, coiling, and multi-slide machinery.
  • Parts are manufactured with complete traceability and monitored for quality at every stage.
  • We also complete assemblies, bringing together components either manufactured by us or supplied by you.
  • Assembly techniques include riveting, tapping, ultrasonic and resistance welding, and mechanical fastening.
  • Engineers oversee assembly lines to ensure fit, function, and reliability of the final product.

This stage gives you flexibility: we provide individual parts for your production line or complete assemblies ready to integrate into your system.

Why Choose Us?

At European Springs & Pressings, you get everything you need under one roof, backed by decades of expertise and global resources. From that initial sketch to final assemblies, we provide the full journey:

  • UK manufacturing facility with full traceability across all products.
  • CAD design, prototyping, tool making, production, and assembly, all in-house.
  • Market-leading stamping, coiling, and spring-making technology.
  • Laser cutting and advanced prototyping for faster development cycles.
  • World-class quality assurance at every stage.
  • A team of skilled engineers and technicians who guide you from idea to delivery.

Most suppliers specialise in just one or two of these stages. We bring them all together. That means fewer handovers, less risk, shorter timeframes and a better end product.
