Hours: 40 hours per week including day release to college
Job description
Work in a supported learning environment, to develop the skills and knowledge in manufacturing, including Press Shop, Production, Coiling, Wire Forming, Multi-Slides and Tool Room.
- Undertake a learning and development programme, completing ‘day release’.
- Undertake a work programme in the Manufacturing sections to develop practical and/or technical skills and knowledge of the manufacture of Wire and Strip Spring products and their associated Tooling, including;
- Blank, Pierce and Multi-Stage presswork
- Compression and Tension Spring Coiling and Grinding
- Wire Forming
- Small Order, Prototype and Batch Production
- Multi-Slide Pressed/Formed Manufacturing
- Jig, Tool and Gauge Manufacturing
- Quality Control techniques
- Associated administration and IT systems
- Take part in meetings, supervised learning and training as directed by the Technical Director/Line Manager
Qualifications And Experience
There is no requirement for previous experience as full training will be given. The ideal candidate will be; capable of maintaining focus whilst engaged in repetitive tasks, able to undertake light to moderate physical (upper body) tasks, keen to work in an engineering environment, and able to follow instructions accurately.
